Towcester to decide on Juvenile runners after the weekend

Towcester will use this weekend's trials and trial stakes for the Star Sports & Orchestrate Ltd. English Greyhound Derby to firm up the decision-making process around next Sunday's Time Greyhound Nutrition Juvenile Championship over 500m.

Danny Rayment, Towcester's RM, expects the draw for the prestigious £5,000-to-the-winner one-off to be made on Monday, with a field of some 14 nominations whittled down to the requisite six with reserves.

Last year's Juvenile was won by subsequent Greyhound of the Year Proper Heiress with Derby champion Droopys Plunge in second and the previous year's Irish Derby hero Bockos Diamond in third.

This year's nominations are headed by Category One champions Elusivenomore, Romeo Ability, Santas Amigo and Scooby The Lady, as well as Ireland's Tote Gold Cup-winning Coloursaregreen.

The full list of entries for the Time Greyhound Nutrition Juvenile Championship (April 12): Carrigoon Milo (Jamie Kingsley), Coloursaregreen (Paul Hennessy), Elusivenomore (Jimmy Fenwick), Gaytime Clyde (Graham Holland), Goldcash Warrior (Nathan Hunt), Warrior (Swords Style (Graham Holland), Kranky Drake (Kevin Hutton), Not So Steady (Craig Morris), Rebel Alaska (Kevin Hutton), Romeo Ability (Patrick Janssens), Salacres Lock Up (Peter Harnden), Santas Amigo (David Mullins), Scooby The Lady (Richard Rees), The Other Chief (Maxine Locke).
