Star Sports/TRC English Greyhound Derby Semi-Final Two
We put up our trainer chat for semi-final one yesterday and today it is the turn of the second semi. Joe Conneely spoke to all of the trainers this week ahead of the semi-finals. Joe gives his thoughts on each of the runners in each race and to hear from the trainer click on their name to download the m4a file.
Trap 1 - No Better Feelin (Esther Driver)
A model of consistency for connections. Has a brilliant make up on the inside and would not be a surprise to see him use that draw to his advantage and sneak through.
Trap 2 - Prince Naseem (Maxine Locke)
Has shown speed and determination to make the last twelve. Yet to set the world alight but the ability is there and it only takes one clean break for people to see how fast this dog is.
Trap 3 - Droopys Plunge (Patrick Janssens)
Really come into his own through the Derby. The hit and miss performances seem a thing of the past and this dog is capable of a flyer. If doing so he certainly makes it through to next week's final.
Trap 4 - Dynamic Force (Paul Hennessy)
Set the track alight with a dominant display in the quarter-final. Needs a repeat break to hold the speedstars on his outside but he has been growing into the competition well.
Trap 5 - Cheap Sandwiches (Graham Holland)
A greyhound who truly deserves big race success. Glides around the bends at Towcester and has looked faultless to date even in defeat to his kennelmate. Similar performance sees him through to another big final.
Trap 6 - Bockos Diamond (Graham Holland)
He has been dividing opinion amongst many but deep down, he is the fastest dog in the competition. If coming away on terms there isn't a dog who can lead him but that is a BIG IF what we have seen in recent weeks. Still the one to beat.
