Yeates passes away

Trainer Richard Yeates has sadly passed away, aged 80.

Based in Prestwood near High Wycombe, Yeates first took out a licence in 1978 and had been attached to Oxford in recent years.

A statement on the kennel's Facebook page read: “It is with great sadness that we need to inform you of the shock news of the passing of Richard.

"The family request for privacy at this very sad time and we will post any updates when further information becomes available.

"All our thoughts are with Diane, Darren, Wayne and their families at this tragic time.”

Fittingly, his last runner was a winner as Ballintemple Dan won a D1 at Oxford last night to complete a double on the card for Yeates.
