Four for Ray and three for Brown at Suffolk Downs

Jason Ray's runners are really starting to get their eye in at Suffolk Downs with a four-timer on last night's card. In The Money is a multiple A1 winner at Oxford, getting off the mark in open company at the second time of asking. He was the quicker of the Ray winners over four bends, with Savana Bono the other over 388m ending a beautiful day for the kennel with the final winner on the evening.

Ray's six-bend scorers were Savana Pepsi and Swift Jordana. The first of those stepped up to six bends for the first time and once on the bunny, she was going to be hard to shake off it. The latter had to work harder to get her head in front but got there in time to add to the winning tally.

Another three winners for the Michelle Brown kennel made it another excellent Tuesday for the team since the re-opening of the track. Essex Abbigail kicked things off with a success in the opening race, her 23.63 the best run over four bends on the night. She got the better of her kennelmate Savana Kilauea to make it four wins in five career starts for the June 24 whelp.

Gothic Opera quickly followed up, making full use of the empty trap outside him to move right off on the run to the opening bend and get around in front. The treble was completed by Savana Cosmic who got away off the front end in a 548m race and maintained the gallop.

There was also a double on the night for Darren Whitton. Moaning Mojito won the sprint contest on the night, followed in the very next race by Barntick Sydney. It doubled Whitton's open race winning tally for the year in one night.

Indian Floyd justified her position at the head of the market for Jason Gornall, running riot by eight lengths in a 548m maiden. The other open on the card went the way of Nina Shine as Bonzer Bono made it a 39/1 double for fans of U2.

Zamboni ices his opponents at Star Pelaw

Four opens over three different trips highlighted the Star Pelaw action with Dean Blackbird's Zoos Zamboni the pick of the winners, landing a 435m contest in 26.27 on a track rated 30 slow. He got out in front and was always holding the hot favourite Fagans Peggy who kept him honest the entire way.

Blackstone Senna was one of a pair of 8/1 winners in the opens, taking the other 435m race for Carol Murray. On paper, she was drawn wider than ideal in six but her early pace saw her cut in as the bend approached which proved to be the race winning move for her.

The sprint was won by Aramis Dasher for Michelle Dobson. Connections have had to be patient with him, missing almost 11 months of action from just before last Christmas until earlier on this month. He has taken a while to get used to the bends at Pelaw having raced at Sheffield in the past but looks to be getting the hang of it now.

Samantha Atkinson won the six-bend contest with Bogger Cutie, breaking her open duck at the sixth attempt. Her run probably warrants marking up a little as the only winner from one of the two inside traps on a card that saw three winners each from five and six from 10 races.
