Tuesday's Tips
*** Bit View Bella - 6.56 Suffolk Downs
** Sober Gemstone - 8.43 Suffolk Downs
* New Ground - 7.31 Suffolk Downs
The return to this track was a big help to Bit View Bella, three months out of season. That was only an A3 contest but the time that she produced was very smart for the grade. Her trial prior to that saw her beat one by seven lengths that was an impressive winner in an A5 yesterday at the track. This is tougher but she looks more than capable of stepping back up to open class level with a win.
Sober Gemstone was sent off odds on for her UK debut here a fortnight ago. She missed the kick compared to her trials, finding plenty of trouble at the opening bend as a result. A 28.87 winner at Cork back in October, she is more than capable of making a big step up on that form tonight to get her head in front at the second time of asking.
The trapping of New Ground is going to need to be better than it was last week to pick up the maiden stayers at 7.31 but he is head and shoulders above these if he is able to find the best of his Yarmouth form at this venue. An A1 winner in 27.90 there at the back end of January, he is hard to oppose on that level.
