*** Kranky Katie - 7.33 Towcester

** Salacres Wild - 8.41 Towcester

* Quivers Bucks - 7.16 Towcester

Kranky Katie has picked up a couple of wins so far at Towcester, including one in this grade just two starts back. Given she is a youngster with limited miles on the clock, it is a bit of a surprise to see her back down a level so quickly. Her dam was the Oaks consolation winner at Shelbourne back in 2023, and she was an improver as she matured, so there is a chance that her daughter has plenty more to come.

There is a downgrade this evening for Salacres Wild who might be able to get his head in front as he did the last time that he was racing at this level. He has sprinting speed which should see him to the opening bend in front and given the ease in grade, it could be a tough task for his opponents to get back into things from there.

To complete a trio of downgraded tips we have Quivers Bucks who returns to B5 this evening for the first time since making a winning debut at the track back in June. Three times he has finished runner-up at the level above in the meantime, and now dropped a rung he can get his head back in front. He should turn on the speed on the inside and sneak far enough clear to hold off the closers.
