Underground Gold has first look at Towcester ahead of the Derby
There was an excellent trial session at Towcester on Wednesday afternoon which was headlined by Pauk Young's Ladbrokes Puppy Derby winner Underground Gold.

Gold goes 28.80 calc at Towcester
A first look at Towcester ahead of a tilt at the Star Sports and Orchestrate Ltd English Greyhound Derby saw Underground Gold stop the clock at 29.10 for Paul Young on a track subsequently marked as -30.
The newly crowned Ladbrokes Puppy Derby champion led off a trial session which saw him produce a solid effort for his very first look at the Northamptonshire venue. Given the slow track, his 3.93 split sticks out like a sore thumb, with just one other dog able to break the four-second barrier.
Plenty of credit has to go to Epic Ace who equalled Underground Gold's time. The fact that he did it off a two-length slower split shows that he is going to be a contender for the Derby, already boasting very strong form in Ireland.
Third quickest on the session was Shudacudawoulda who was trialling after only being sold over the weekend in an online auction. This was an excellent start at the track.
On the Tuesday session there was an excellent trial from John Flaherty's Naochra, while later on today there is a trial for 2025 Irish Derby finalist Droopys Deploy amongst others.
