79TH Two-year-old British Bred Produce Stakes final draw and betting

Following on from two thrilling semi-finals of the Two-year-old Produce Stakes, let's take a look at the draw for the £10,000 to the winner Category One final and how the bookmakers have priced up the race.

Best prices:

Romeo Ability 2/7, Eagles Respect 5, Berties Decision 10, Malcolm Bosh 16, Izzys Tenpin 25, Shes One Eighty 40.

The Patrick Janssens-trained Romeo Ability heads into the Category One final as the 2/7 favoruite with Skybet, Paddy Power, Unibet and Betfred following his ultra-impressive wins in the first round and semi-finals of the British Bred competition.

Speaking to the GBGB, trainer Janssens said: “His breeder Dave Firmager really wanted to have a go at the last Produce Stakes at Swindon, and we’ve got a decent chance now with Romeo Ability. “You never count your chickens, but he’s run Swindon really well and hopefully can do it one more time, although I don’t think it will be as easy as the bookmakers say!''

Talking about the draw in T3, Patrick added: “There’s a lot of pace around him so we are taking nothing for granted. It’s disappointing he’s not joined by his brother Romeo Alliance in the final, but he just didn’t get the luck of the draws – and to be honest, Ability has handled Swindon better maybe than his brother. “Both are great dogs, but Romeo Ability gives us a good chance. I’ve not had too many runners in the Produce Stakes over the years, but I know Dave (Firmager) won it a few times when he had a trainer’s licence. I’m sure, like me, he’d like to win it again.”

Local runner Eagles Respect chased home Romeo Ability in the semi-finals and is currently priced up at 5s with bet365, William Hill and Betfred. The July 2023 son of Tommy Shelby starts and stays. If he gets a clear run, he should go close in the £10,000 to the winner final.

Next in is Berties Decision from T1. Well-drawn on the rails, the Oxford raider is a 10s chance with all the firms who have priced up the final. The Rachel Hill-trained son of Signet Driver made all in the semi-finals, clocking 28.27 following a 3.97 sectional. A repeat of that flashy exit would give him a chance tomorrow afternoon.

The Angie Kibble-trained Malcolm Bosh is drawn a little wider than ideal out in T6 and is on offer at 16s with the bookmakers. The July 2023 middle seed stays on well. If they bump on the rails, he will be looking to swoop off the final bend and pick up the pieces. Izzys Tenpin is an interesting runner at 25s with William Hill. The Dave Mullins-trained Romford raider bolted up in the second round winning by over eight lengths in 28.46. If she were to pop out in the final, she could go well at a price.

The outsider of the field is Shes One Eighty from T5 at 40s with William Hill. The November 2023 daughter of Magical Bale is yet to win during the competition to date, but qualification is the name of the game. The Hove raider has plenty of rails comments on her card so she will need a flyer to avoid an early bump.

· Final date: September 20, 2025

· Venue: Swindon Greyhound Stadium

· Distance: 476 meters

· Prize: £10,000 to the winner

Good luck to all owners, trainers and connections with runners in the 79th Two-year-old British Bred Produce final.
