Foot kicks off 2026 with a Star Pelaw treble

Burrow Bell enjoyed a strong end to the year at Star Pelaw, winning six of her last 11 starts and kicked 2026 off in a similar vein of form with a success on the opening day. Her 25.67 tied the second quickest clocking that she has managed in that time, brave at the opening bend to go around in front, and she was never going to be for catching from that point.

There was also a quick sprint winner for Foot as Dreamin Porcha picked up a 13th win from just 29 starts. She missed out on the SR Transport Rose Bowl crown by a short head back in October, finishing out of the first two just once in her last 11 starts. She has shown that she can do it over two bends as well as four, coming on for her return to action on Boxing Day after a two-month break.

Foot's hat-trick was started by the win of Fagans Sonny who was scoring for the first time for the kennel. It was his first try over 435m having run over the sprint trip in each of his first four starts at the track. The winning time was only 26.61 but that won't matter to connections.

Ballymac Sargie lifted the Untold Racing Stewards Cup at the track in October and kicked off the new year with another 590m success, stopping the clock in 36.10. He had been in excellent form at Newcastle prior to this for Tom Heilbron, beating a solid yardstick in Killieford Goram by four lengths.

Graham Strike enjoyed four open winners at the track in December and saw his Darraghs Flash cause the shock of the afternoon as he turned over 1/4 favourite Moanteen Pudding in a maiden six-bend contest. He got off the mark over 435m on Boxing Day having only run over sprint distances at the track but took a decent scalp on his first start over six.

The other open on the card was another sprint which went to Dean Blackbird's Eden Dolly. It was her first open race win on start number 81 of her career, getting her head in front for the first time since a Sunderland A3 win in early October.
