Kent Silver Salver prices

The Arena Racing Company Kent Silver Salver has become one of the premier sprinting competitions on the calendar, with recent years seeing it as the only Category One competition for the sprinters.

The Scurry and the National Sprint are back to top level status this year so it is just the first of those to come up in what has become a deep division. The one main absentee is Good Acclaim, with the new Nottingham 255m track record holder set to head to Ireland for a crack at the Irish Sprint Cup over 400y. That is brave campaigning from connections and hopefully he will do them proud.

There is still a smart field which is led by Magical Luka. He is the third quickest so far in 2026 over that 400y distance at Dundalk which could give us some clues as to how the top Irish match up with the British. He is back with Kevin Hutton again as he was for the Romford Puppy Cup last year where he was absolutely spectacular in making the final.

Shadow Storm was defeated in the final of the Time Greyhound Nutrition Sprint at Towcester on Derby final night but he is still a monster of a sprinter. He has 12 wins from 16 career starts with that Towcester run the first time that he has finished outside of the top two in any race.

Mark Wallis has Ballinakill Liam in as the only other runner that is at single figure odds in the ante-post market. He was runner-up in this competition last year to Rioja Oisin but has not been seen in race action since Monmore in January.

15/8 Magical Luka

3/1 Shadow Storm

8/1 Ballinakill Liam

12/1 Da Don, Nightingale Crescent, Thurlesbeg Plato

14/1 Avarua Lake

16/1 Beaming Isla

20/1 Crafty Alejandro

25/1 Broadway Murty, Pavilion Team

33/1 Blackburnmybullet, False Strap, Rios De Janeiro

50/1 Avarua Zlatan, Slaneyside Swade

66/1 Bucking Bucks, Earls Joker, Jumpstart Sarah

100/1 Cronody Zuma, Daring Hoffa, Droopys Rarity, Hackney Toast, Headford Cian, Headford Wayne, Joescourt Lad, King Jarvis, Swift Krab

150/1 King Luther, Martindale Lad

200/1 Gothic Opera, Headford Eimear, Olives Patchwork, Raha Jayjay, Stonepark Kirby, Zenith Scorpion

Ante-post selections

Going to leave the 'obvious' pair alone at the head of the market. It would be no surprise to find them both in the final but there is a bit of juice elsewhere in the market to try and find a couple to surprise.

Beaming Isla was a finalist in this competition last year and has been in excellent form in recent weeks, putting in plenty of winning work at Hove. She is up against Magical Luka in the opening round which is a tough enough starting point but she has the red jacket on her back which has always suited her so well in the past and should at least make it out of her heat.

At a much bigger price in Michelle Brown's Bucking Bucks. Having seen him plenty in the flesh at Suffolk Downs, this lad has serious straight line speed when he gets it right at the boxes. A 15.75 dog at Towcester in the past, he landed a top grade sprint in a decent 16.20 at Yarmouth last time out. He lacks a look which is a niggling concern but he has drawn one of the weaker heats.

Beaming Isla @ 16/1

Bucking Bucks @ 66/1
