Irish Laurels Heats
First run in 1944, the Irish Laurels remains one of the most sought after titles in the sport. Sponsored by Bar 1 Racing for the fourth straight year, the opening round is this Saturday night at Curraheen Park.
2025 saw the fastest ever winner of the Laurels as Patrick Guilfoyle's Magical On Fire stopped the clock at 27.93 in the decider. He had produced a 27.89 in his quarter-final win, the second fastest time of the year over 525y at Curraheeen Park, behind on Ballymac Setanta on the same night.
That dog was sent off as favourite in the 2025 final and will kick off the 2026 competition as the ante-post market leader ahead of Saturday's heats.
