Saturday night at Dundalk will see the two semis of the Bar 1 Racing Irish Sprint Cup, with 11 speedsters still in the competition, hunting the prestigious title.

The sad news for the competition as a whole is the withdrawal of Crafty Coolio in the opening semi final. He has looked a sprinter to follow in his limited action but it was reported on Talking Dogs that he is going to be a dad soon which is going to be interesting. He is only a January 25 whelp so fingers crossed that he will make a return to the track in 2027.
As mentioned in the Irish Performance of the Week yesterday it was Bomber Nina who was the quickest in the quarter-final stage last Saturday night. She has the quickest time of the year at Tralee over 325y as well as a top 15 time at Shelbourne prior to heading to Dundalk where her quarter-final success put her fifth over the 400y distance.
Montana Secret was the quickest in the second round and will start directly outside of Bomber Nina in the second semi-final. He arrived in this competition without having run over two bends in a race. He has only had 12 starts in total, so there should be more to come with a smart 28.35 at both Cork and Limerick to his credit.
Just to add a little more intrigue to the second semi, it will also feature The Other Wild who is the only greyhound left in the competition who has reached this stage unbeaten.
That is going to make this semi a race that is not to be missed which adds further excitement to Saturday night which will also see the second night of the first round of the BOYLE Sports Irish Greyhound Derby at Shelbourne.
