British Performance of the Week - 13 July 2026
Two Category One finals last week and neither of them disappointed with a pair of fantastic winners in Bikini Bullet and Arthur Bitter.

Bullet shoots down her cup opponents
Billy Boyle has enjoyed plenty of success with a string of outstanding performers over the years but his Coral Coronation Cup winner Bikini Bullet might end up being the best of the lot. The new Romford track record holder went eyeball to eyeball with Coral Essex Vase winner Tiffield Tarquin and brushed aside that very smart runner with consummate ease from the fourth bend.
She was also breathtaking on Derby final night at Towcester and won't have any issues coming back to a stiff four for the Empress back at that track and the Oaks at Dunstall, nor sticking to six at Romford. She is a proper star and she's only had 13 starts in her life!
The other Category One final over the weekend was the Betway Juvenile Classic at Towcester where Arthur Bitter gave Pat Godfrey a big winner. The Arthur prefix is one that has been used to great effect in naming, and the smile that Godfrey has brought to our faces with his sense of humour will not be half as big as his after his pup brought home the trophy.
Newcastle saw the opening round of the Time Northern Flat on Thursday night where Woltemade went quickest for Jimmy Fenwick. His level of form at this venue is phenomenal, and he is well capable of adding a third competition win at the venue to his cv in time.
He had to share the honours this week with Slingshot Poppy who produced an identical 28.13 in her first round victory in the Arc Angel of the North. Hopefully she can get a monkey off her back this week in the semis of that competition, after a string of exits at this stage in the past.
The stayers competition at Dunstall Park is only a Cat Two but in Bluejig Outlaw, there is a genuine Cat One performer heading into the final, looking very hard to beat. A finalist in the Ladbrokes Golden Jacket and the Central Park track record holder over 664m, a win here will see him in discussions for stayer of the year, especially with the St Leger still to come at this track where he clearly enjoys his racing.
Just across town it was Zenith Pasha who launched his staying career with a visually impressive win at Monmore, a victory that was backed up by the clock. It's no wonder connections have been keen to see him step up in distance and a tilt at the Ladbrokes Summer Stayers at this venue is very much on the cards.
It is the start of the Premier Greyhound Racing Regency this coming Saturday night with Mike Burton's Carrick Scholsey laying out his cards in a trial stake last weekend. He has found a serious run of wins of late, producing a very smart effort given he went into the weekend without a prior look around Hove.
At the other end of the distance range, there was another impressive win for Blow Out at Doncaster. The sprinting scene is the strongest that it has been in a good while and Diane Cross's bitch has shown that she is more than capable of holding her own with some bigger names
No Better Feelin adds his name to the list for the second week in a row around Nottingham, adding the final of a dual distance competition to his heat win. He's the type of dog that the vast majority of us would give our right arm to own, consistent, gutsy and with a huge will to win.
Star Pelaw saw a smart win from Sunnyside Gurkha over 435m, producing the quickest time of the year so far over four bends at the County Durham venue. He also has a top five time over Sunderland's sprint trip this year which he set back in January, remaining well capable of very quick times.
At Sheffield on Sunday there were some decent winners which included Inca Brook over six bends. He was quickly in control of his field after a slick exit from the traps and that was more than enough to see him get the job done. Relatively unexposed over staying trips, he could be the type to add a good few wins over the coming months here.
It is back-to-back weeks that Cunnigar King has added his name to the POW list at Sunderland. Only Slingshot Poppy and Annadown Chip have gone quicker over the 450m distance than him this year, producing his third time in the top 10 of 2026 on Friday night. Mark Bulmer has him absolutely flying at present.
Quivers Rafa clocked the 21st time under 16 seconds at Valley this year over 260m. It was his best performance for 14 months since producing 28-dead in an A1, the sixth fastest time of 2025 over 460m there.
Central Park is not often as far down the list as this but there was only one open there this week, the final of a standard competition where Ballymac Blanco was sent off the 1/3 favourite. Maxine Locke's charge did what he needed to do to get the job done from the front and extend his winning run.
Backing It Up is part of a lovely Grangeview Ten X Florence Cake litter which has seen five of the nine win open races, including this lad and of course Nightingale Crew. It was an A1 that he was victorious in at Yarmouth last week, bringing up a hat-trick of wins at top grade level for Erica Samuels.
Darren Whitton had the Harlow winner for the fifth week on the bounce as Moaning Versace landed a D4 in a very fast time. It was just the fourth run of 2026 for the veteran, scoring for the first time since last October.
We close things out with a trip to Kinsley where Pro Cooper produced the run of the week in a sprint contest. He had hit form in no uncertain terms in recent weeks for Joanne Robinson, scoring for the fifth time from his last six starts.
