Scooby's Kent Plate is overflowing with snacks

A hat-trick of POW wins for Scooby The Lady as she not only landed the Arena Racing Company Kent Plate on Saturday night at Central Park but set a new track record in the process. A mention also for Bubbly Evie who was also a record breaker on the evening but the field that Scooby The Lady saw off was deeper and she did so from what had looked on paper, an unfavourable draw.

At Monmore it was also a third straight win for Underground Gold as he blitzed his field in the final of the Ladbrokes Puppy Derby. He is going to face tougher tasks when he steps outside of his own age group but a pair of 27.79 wins in this competition, making him the fastest ever winner, suggests that he is going to cope just fine.

A third Category One final of the weekend came at Oxford in the bet365 Hunt Cup which went to Kevin Hutton's Resonate. She is well-suited to the demands of the 650m around Cowley, only 1/12 on her travels away from her home track at this point, though that was on her most recent visiting trip to Monmore back in January where she beat a decent field.

As three Category One competitions came to a close, a new one started at Dunstall Park, the Arena Racing Comany Laurels. The pick of the action on the card, however, came in the Category Two Dunstall Dash where Roanna Mamba set the quickest time of the opening round. He has enjoyed the most productive six months of his career and is clearly still in fine fettle.

Good Acclaim was also a winner of his Dunstall Dash heat off the back of another impressive success at Nottingham on Monday. He has been a regular winner of the POW at Colwick Park despite only having had 10 career starts, a perfect 4/4 at the Midlands venue.

A string of Star Sports and Orchestrate Ltd English Greyhound Derby trial stakes at Towcester on Sunday saw Slippery Brian produce the best run. He was the biggest price of the Graham Holland raiders on the card but he was their winner on the afternoon, seeing off Droopys Berries who has been in good form himself.

At Romford, there was another exceptional run from Tiffield Tarquin. He has a perfect 6/6 record at the track in 2026, adding a Hove win to his record for good measure back in February. 34.63 is the quickest time that he has stopped the clock which makes him the 11th fastest ever around the 575m distance.

When Behemoth is at the top of his game, he is a very smart performer, as a 29.16 at Hove on Thursday night showed. He has plenty of brute pace to the bend, producing the third quickest 335y time of 2025 at Drumbo before joining Belinda Green.

One who had been threatening a smart time for the last few weeks was Audience. He has improved with each of his four starts here, looking well suited to the 450m, with the 500m at his home track of Sheffield just a hair too far at this stage of his career. 27.40 was only bettered on six occasions in 2025 and he is only an April 24 youngster, so could have more to come.

A quick spin around the north east kicks off at Newcastle where Toddys Storm made a spectacular UK debut. She ran a couple of times last summer at Kilkenny without success, put away until earlier on this year when she bolted up in two starts. This was a stunning way to introduce herself to a UK audience.

Sunderland next and a six-bend win for Jacktavern Lab. He has won five of his nine starts over staying trips, with four of them (this one included ) by a margin of seven lengths or further. Unlucky to draw a Ladbrokes Golden Jacket heat which contained Droopys Flare and Eagles Respect, his knowledge here can give him better claims of qualifying from the heats of the Arena Racing Company Grand Prix which starts on Friday.

Star Pelaw on Sunday night saw a slick sprinting win for Beachgrove Lad. He has won four of his last five over the 245m distance at the track and his effort made the top 20 times of the year so far despite the track being subsequently given 20 slow.

There was also action from Sheffield on Sunday where Catunda Maura produced the top run of the day with her 480m success. This trip is as far as she wants to go but she has the early pace to burn off her rivals, and with a 2.97 split setting her on her way, there was no coming back.

Another swift type is Moaning Hearns who added to his recent winning form at Suffolk Downs on Tuesday evening. He has won on all four of his visits to Mildenhall in 2026, producing the three quickest times seen at the venue this year in the process.

Elsewhere in the East, it was time for another solid performance from Swift Depot at Yarmouth. The former track record holder got his head in front for the first time since November. He has won four straight three times in his career as well as rattling off a hat-trick on two occasions, so now that he has got his head back in front, he is the type to add to that quickly.

Despite being well into a fifth year, Devon Chime produced an excellent sprint win at Kinsley on Friday. He had last run in August, 10 days before he hit veteran status, so he must have been in rude health at home to bring him back. Connections made the right decision as the first time this year to dip under 16 seconds.

There was a sprint winner of POW at Harlow as well where Tinas Liberty took the prize. She is well suited to the striped jacket, picking up her 22 win overall in her 49th career start.

We end at Valley where Crokers Bluebell produced a decent run, dipping under 16 seconds. That was the fifth quickest time of the year so far over the 260m distance .
