Franklin looking forward to the Boxing Day bonanza at Yarmouth
Simon Franklin will be a busy man in 2026 with ARC taking over the lease at Suffolk Downs but for now he is looking forward to the Boxing Day card at Yarmouth.

Yarmouth end 2025 on a high for busy Franklin
Simon Franklin, the Yarmouth promoter soon to be also overseeing Mildenhall, formerly Suffolk Downs, is looking forward to one of the seaside track’s busiest meetings on Boxing Day with the 68th Yarmouth Track Championship Grand Final the undoubted highlight.
The popular and longstanding graded sweepstakes is worth £1,500 to the winner and promises to be a superb contest given some excellent - and fast - performances in the preliminaries.
Erica Samuels’ Kereight Fraud goes to traps fastest in the event after a fluent and impressive 27.30sec semi-final win last week.
Franklin said: “It’s another great Yarmouth Track Championship Grand Final, plus it’s a very strong card throughout including a graded marathon, the annual seniors’ race kindly sponsored by Double J Feeds - and a great way to continue the Christmas celebrations!
The weather looks good, the restaurant and lounges are full, and it should be a packed stadium. We have 13 races, kicking off at 11am.”
