Mullins at the treble

Three winners for David Mullins was started by Piemans Goalie. His winning run ended at four last time out, but he was only beaten half a length that day and was quickly back to winning ways. It has been a sensational start to the year for him, with his early pace quickly putting the result beyond doubt.

Brindle Bully picked up his first win since September, staying on too strongly for Pro Parker. He had returned to Romford that day after making the final of the East Anglian Derby and fresh at this track is clearly something that suits him.

The treble was brought up Stradeen Spirit who was getting his first open race win. It was a messy contest but that won't worry connections as he added to a pair of top grade successes from January.

It was Kevin Boon's Bockos Buster. who produced the top run of the night over four bends, stopping the clock in 23.88. He smashed out in front and even without a prior look at the track, he had no issues with a new venue, running away from his field by four and a half lengths.

The most interesting of the 575m races saw the win streak of Underground Fizz ending at three. Newinn Deejay took a flier for Mark Wallis and even the red-hot strong runner was unable to reel him back in. The winner has plenty of strong form at this track in the past but this has to go down as the best effort that he has produced.

There was a sprinting win from Maxine Locke's Dashaway Daisy. A week after being edged out in a photo by Nightingale Crew, she had no problem despatching her rivals with superb early pace. She stopped the clock in 13.35 for win number six from her 13 starts for Locke.

At the other end of the spectrum there were heats of a 750m competition. Intriguing Iris was the quicker of the pair, picking the lead up at the seventh bend for Nathan Hunt before holding off the late challenge from Innfield Fifi who had to come from the back of the field.

The other went to Borna Parachute for Craig Morris, backing up a win over eight bends at Suffolk Downs. He got to the front much earlier in the race and just kept grinding things out from there.

Paul Young had the final winner of the evening as Alans Amigo got to the front at the fifth bend to take the money. He had found trouble a couple of times on the way round to pick up his second win.

Sehnsa Amigo gave Bradley Stowe a winner in a contest that saw carnage at the opening bend. He went from at the back to the front in the blink of an eye to pick up a wide-margin win.

The other open on the card went to Martyn Wiley's Raha Jayjay. The pup is making a good start to his career, starting in A7 back in October, he was quickly in control off a smart sectional to add a first open race win to his tally.

Poppy dominates at Sunderland again

Slingshot Poppy was back in action last night for the first time in 2026, producing a solid winning run of 27.01. She has won seven of her nine races in the UK now, including six out of seven at Sunderland.

Carl Jackson picked up a winner with Ballymac Deboss who got himself back to winning ways. He has been taking on some decent quality dogs in recent weeks and a slick sub five-second sectional got him out and away.

A sprint contest was the other open on the card, going to Pennys Anything for Yvonne Bell. She also banged out to make every yard of the running to add to a D1 win from last month.
