Greyhound Racing Constituents NI visit Stormont
Greyhound Racing Constituents NI visited Stormont this week to discuss the sport and the progress made with MLAs.

Stormont welcomes greyhound racing again
Back in October, greyhounds made history as the first to visit Stormont. Hosted by Ciara Ferguson MLA, the group met with John Blair MLA and also had the opportunity for a quick chat with First and Deputy First Ministers and other MLA’s during the visit.
With the 100th anniversary of greyhound racing this summer, the sport was once more back at Stormont to discuss the heritage of the sport, the high welfare standards that we have within the sport and other parts of the industry.
These discussions are hugely important to the future of the sport, trying to make sure that those in charge in Northern Ireland understand the sport from those who are hands on daily rather than those who wish trouble on the sport.
That is more important than ever in Northern Ireland as Grey2K visited last year. Unsurprisingly they found all sorts of things they didn't like at the two tracks in Northern Ireland, spending time to meet with MLAs as part of their visit.
Within the sport, we all know what damage the group are capable of with their slanted view on things, with their Advocacy Director Patrick Baga believing himself to be a track preparation expert with the views that he expressed on their site.
Regulars at Drumbo Park and Derry should be looking to engage their MLAs to make sure that greyhounds are spoken for in Northern Ireland by those who actually know them rather than those who claim to know them!
