Kevin Hutton landed two of the four BGBF British Bred Oaks at Oxford on Saturday night, making headlines in the latest greyhound racing news.

Coppice Lottie (7/4fav) left it late to score in heat two but got up in the dying strides to touch off kennelmate Union Blizzard in 27.16 for the 450m trip, with Ivys Showgirl back in third.

Hutton also struck with Dreamin Francis (6/5fav), who got on top late on when beating Signet Maisie by half a length in 26.98, while Miss Kubelik claimed third.

However, it was Bang On Edith who set the standard, winning in an impressive 26.67 for trainer Nathan Hunt. Breaking sharply from the traps, she made all the running to beat Union Piper and Signet Nayla.

Union Rose (9/4) delivered another strong performance for Rob Hall, winning in 26.76 over Signet Lyssa, with Dreamin Dot also qualifying.

Hutton completed a four-timer on the night with victories from Rioja Maxi (26.86) and Givemethemoney (26.78), showcasing the strength of his kennel.

The other two opens went the way of Rachel Hill’s Droopys Swag (26.72) and Dalton Smith’s Swift Oilean (26.96), who both scored in style.

New Track Record at Central Park

Over at Central Park, greyhound racing UK fans witnessed a track record fall as Proper Dangeress smashed the 664m record with a stunning 40.10 run, beating the previous best by two spots.

Trainer Paul Donovan enjoyed a hat-trick on the night, with Wonderful Abi winning by a head in 40.70 and Tintreach Tiny posting a smart 29.05 over 491m.

Dave Lee also enjoyed success with Bluejig Baron notching a 491m hat-trick in 26.68. There was a surprise win for Ontherun Eden over 277m in 16.27.

Jenningsbet Maiden Trophy heats went to Dreamin Lando (29.47) and Chaddy Boy (29.47), both winning by the narrowest of margins.

Monmore & Doncaster: Rees, Ferguson & More in the Spotlight

Richard Rees grabbed a double at Monmore with Avarua Zlatan winning from the front in 28.17 and Amazing Zeus charging home late in 38.04.

There were further 630m wins for Blu Bert (38.22) and Ballymac Lineout (37.98). A tight finish in the Ladbrokes.com 264 final saw Makeadifference (15.43) upset favourite Newinn Souly.
