Monmore racing manager Tony Williamson is looking forward to seeing the completed entries tomorrow morning for the dual header at the track starting on Saturday.
30 in each Cat One at Monmore so far
Monmore racing manager Tony Williamson has issued a last call for this weekend's major double header at the Wolverhampton track.
Both the Ladbrokes Gold Cup (480m) and Ladbrokes Summer Stayers Classic (630m) close to entries at 11am on Wednesday ahead of six heats apiece of these Category One events - and the news from Williamson on Tuesday afternoon was that the books for both events look solid with already 30 entries apiece for each.
The first three in each of Saturday's six heats - each are 36-runner competitions - will qualify for the semi-finals on Saturday, August 15, with the brace of £10,000-to-the-winner finals forming part of a gala card at Monmore on Saturday, August 22.
Williamson said: "We've had some cracking dogs trial here in preparation for the Ladbrokes Gold Cup and Ladbrokes Summer Stayers Classic and I've no doubt the final entry for both events will be top notch.
"We expect a few more names overnight and into Wednesday morning."
