It's six-a-side in the semi-finals of the 2025 Star Sports/TRC English Greyhound Derby
We see how the six Irish and six British runners square up against each other ahead of the 2025 Star Sports/TRC English Greyhound Derby semi-finals.

Who will come out on top in the Anglo-Irish match up?
With just 12 dogs remaining, the line-up is very tasty indeed as we head into the semi-finals of the 2025 Star Sports/TRC English Greyhound Derby at Towcester on Saturday.
In what has been a thrilling Derby so far, the Anglo-Irish battle has been as good as ever and things are perfectly balanced going into the penultimate stage.
With six Irish versus six British representatives, we take a look as how they would fare against each other in a game of six-a-side.
Great Britain
SLICK SENTINEL
Weighing in at nearly 37 kilos, he’s the obvious choice as the home team’s goalie and, like any good keeper, he is very hard to beat. Doesn’t have many ‘off’ nights.
PRINCE NASEEM
One of the surprise packages of the tournament and while he isn’t the household name that some of his teammates are, he is proving very strong at the back.
NO BETTER FEELIN
Continues to defy the doubters and his battling sprit means he won’t let attackers past him without a fight. The opposition may see him as the weak link, but he keeps proving them wrong.
CHURCHFIELD SYD
As quick as anything from a standing start, this crowd favourite remains as good as ever. Skins defenders for fun and even though he is about to hang up his trapping boots, he could still have one more cup final in him!
DROOPYS PLUNGE
He often finds himself in trouble but there is no doubting his ability and he can really show what he is capable of when getting daylight on the wing.
DROOPYS BOOKEM
Tom Heilbron’s dog is the striker as he always delivers. The unexposed November 2022 whelp has burst on to the scene in emphatic fashion and continues to improve. Could he yet score the winner for the home side?
Ireland
DYNAMIC FORCE
This August 2022 whelp has exceeded all expectations with his scintillating performances at Towcester and the 36-kilo powerhouse is a safe set of paws in goal. With scope for further progress, he is still very much in the running to be ‘player of the tournament’.
SOLE MIO
The youngest remaining dog having just turned two years old, Peter Cronin’s dog is a real emerging talent and will be tough to beat at the back with his pace off the mark.
CHEAP SANDWICHES
This ultra-reliable dog is Ireland’s Mr. Consistent and he's one of the first names on the team sheet. He’s an ‘eight out of 10’ every week and this stalwart shores up the defence with his dependability.
BOCKOS DIAMOND
The Irish Derby hero was the star player heading into the tournament and still has his sights firmly set on canine immortality. His electric early speed makes this winger a nightmare for defenders – give him the ball and watch him go!
BOMBAY PAT
Not as flashy as his kennelmate on the other wing but a very talented sort in his own right. When he brings his ‘A-game’, he’s as good as any of these and he is capable of popping up with a big play out wide when it is needed most.
DE LAHDEDAH
The defending champion goes up front as he’s the glory boy and is always there when it matters at Towcester. He adapts to any kind of style and never lets anyone down on the big stage.
