Magical Luka continues to impress Hutton
Kevin Hutton has described the very exciting Magical Luka as "probably the best we’ve ever put around Romford."

Luka is simply Magical
Kevin Hutton has heaped further praise on the highly-promising Magical Luka ahead of his tilt at the Coral Romford Puppy Cup.
The October 2023 son of King Sheeran and Magical Mary remains unbeaten and he is odds-on to land the Category One event over 400m, which starts on Friday evening at the Essex circuit.
Having won all seven outings in Ireland for Pat Guilfoyle, the highly-regarded youngster has now won both of his starts for Hutton at Romford in scintillating fashion and he is one of the most exciting puppies around right now.
Speaking on www.kevinhuttonracing.com, he said: “Magical Luka produced a breathtaking performance in the novice 400m final at Romford on Friday evening as he flew the lids and ran riot to win by 8 lengths in 23.51 for his owner Pat Guilfoyle.
“We’ve been lucky enough to have had some fabulous Romford dogs in the past but it’s fair to say he’s probably the best we’ve ever put around the London Road venue.
“He’s taken his race very well and it’s all systems go for the Puppy Cup. We just hope he has the luck throughout the event now.”
Magical Luka runs in heat four (8.01pm) of the Coral Romford Puppy Cup.
Hutton pleased with his crop of youngsters
Hutton has some more exciting puppies coming through at the minute and he was pleased to see Lively Lulu made a winning debut at Oxford on Friday.
“Lively Lulu got our home bred Moments of Magic litter off to the perfect start at Oxford on Friday evening as she ran out a very impressive winner of an A2 on debut,” continued Hutton.
“She broke fast and led all the way in 27.05 and definitely has a touch of class about her. She’s a lovely action and this was only her third time over a four-bend trip, so there’s plenty left to come with her.”
There were more promising signs for Team Hutton in trials before racing at Oxford, with a couple of notable unraced sorts catching the eye.
He added: “Ollie the Ox is a strapping looking 38kg February puppy and he moved well in his first ever four-bend run to clock 27.04. He trapped much better than in his sprint trials and showed a nice touch of early pace. Despite his size, he’s a very tight railer and runs a good bend.
“Jazzy Belle posted 27.28 in the same trial and is another young pup (Jan 24) with a bright future. There’s a lot more to come from her and hopefully she’ll be ready for the Puppy Collar and Puppy Oaks.”
