Moaning Hearns takes the SIS British Bred Sprint Final
Monday night saw open race action at Harlow where they hosted the final of the SIS British Bred Sprint Final and also at Nottingham.

Hearns lands the British Bred Sprint
The final of the SIS British Bred Sprint had the potential to be a tricky affair on paper with two middles and four wides, and it was the innermost of those four wide seeds who got the job done, Darren Whitton's Moaning Hearns. The market favoured him over his kennelmate Moaning Mai Tai who was the quickest qualifier last week and that was spot on as the winner powered home to pick up the other 6/5 joint favourite Sunnyside Ted.
Plenty went wrong for Headford Musk in the heats of a 415m monkey maiden last week but from the red jacket, he made up for that with a solid display last night in the final for Sharon Saberton. He is going to want further than this in time to be seen at his very best but he is clearly a decent type, overcoming early crowding to grab the lead on the run-in and power clear.
Doreens Ash kept things simpler in his win for Keith Crew, producing an impressive 4.79 split and never seeing another rival. He has plenty of winning form over both two and four bends at this track and is the type that is very hard to shake off the bunny. He was kept honest the entire way by Tinks Jester, but never looked like being picked up.
No Better Feelin strikes at Nottingham again
It is more than three months since No Better Feelin has raced at Nottingham. He knows his home track like the back of his paw, and Esther Driver's hound added to an excellent record at the venue with a smart, front-running win. A winner of 11 of his last 13 runs at the track, he had a wider than ideal draw in three to overcome but showed the early pace to do exactly that, racing clear by almost six lengths.
There was nothing to choose between Coolruss Ronnie and Vialli on their sprint heat wins last week but the difference came in their trapping in the final, with the former well on top for Robert Copping. The youngster has now won five of his last six starts, comprised of two over 305m here and a trio of A1 wins at Yarmouth. Clearly adaptable, he's an interesting one to see how far he can go.
One who had already shown his class before hitting these shores was Kelly Wilton's Grouchos Gregor. Fresh off the kennel having the quickest semi-final winner in the 3 Steps at Sheffield, they unleashed this son of Ballymac Cooper who has already made a pair of major finals in Ireland. He got up late on to score on his debut for the Wilton team and can make his mark in better company.
Swift Kipper has been remarkably consistent in recent weeks, adding another win to her tally for Terry Munslow. She boasts plenty of early gears and had this sewn up before they passed the line for the first time. She won for the first time in 2026 on February 20, with this her 11th win of the year from her last 17 starts.
