Open Race punters in heaven on Saturday with 43 contests to savour
With 43 opens across the UK on Saturday, 20 of those take place at Monmore and Oxford, including the Ladbrokes Summer Stayers Classic and Ladbrokes Gold Cup, as well as the BGBF British Bred Oaks Semi Finals. But we take a look at the remaining 23 at Doncaster, Central Park, Yarmouth and Perry Barr. The likes of King Memphis, Acomb Felix, Avongate Venus are out, but find out where and when!

With 43 opens across the UK on Saturday, 20 of those take place at Monmore and Oxford, including the Ladbrokes Summer Stayers Classic and Ladbrokes Gold Cup, as well as the BGBF British Bred Oaks Semi Finals. But we take a look at the remaining 23 at Doncaster, Yarmouth, Central Park and Perry Barr. The likes of King Memphis, Acomb Felix, Avongate Venus are out, but find out where and when!
Doncaster
The opening Open Race at Doncaster could go the way of local trainer Debbie Calvert and Jazza Man. He made all the running in a top grade B1 contest last time out and a similar performance again here ought to be enough to see him landing the double, though Keefill Apollo could be a danger if up with the pace round the opening bends
An intriguing clash between Kevin Ferguson's Acomb Felix and Phil Milner's Keefill Goose. Both greyhounds will be looking to hit the front in the early stages and either may struggle to reel the other in, but Acomb Felix, looking to land a nine-timer, gets the vote to make all the running again
A rare six bend contest at Doncaster where a few of these make their six bend debut, but the old boy Trewmount Fury will appreciate every metre of this 661m trip and if he is anywhere near the leaders rounding the final bends, then Jimmy Gaskin's runner could prove too strong for kennelmate Swift Jeromo and possible front runner Knockard Joe late.
Another good looking line up here. Phil Milner's Avongate Venus had been in good form at Towcester and Romford prior to exiting the Coronation Cup at the Semi Final stage, while Debbie Calvert's Agile Ange and Bombay Fantasy would be more than capable of scoring at their best, but all three have been off a few weeks at least and may struggle to reel in David Fradgley's Stonepark Wes, who has a cracking draw on the rails and a repeat of last week's 29.53 winning run could be enough to land the spoils
Phil Milner looks to hold the key to this Maiden contest. Snowfall was a good winner in an A1 contest on her last start at the track but Thequietman has won his last two over course and distance and if able to lead his rivals in the early stages, then he could land the hat-trick
Droopys Glam is better known over the four bends at Doncaster but moved well in a recent trial and this looks to be the perfect opportunity to get back to winning ways in her first start since mid July. She has a fantastic draw out wide and a reproduction of her 16.87 ought to be enough for Phil Milner's lady. Ricky Overton's Send For You rates a danger as she has dipped under the 17.00sec barrier on a number of occasions of late and a decent break here would make things interesting
Yarmouth
Jane Craske's Laugh Alot was denied in her bid to land the six-timer last time out when picked up rounding the third bend by the Craig Morris trained Who Dares Wins. Laugh Alot will look to reverse the form if building up another lead but Who Dares Wins won fair and square on that occasion and could follow up again
Six bend Maiden action here with not alot of recent form to go on, but Kevin Boon's Joy Wild is lightly raced and brings over staying form from Shelbourne Park. In the context of this race, she could prove to be the safest option though January 24 youngster Crypto Only Mate is sure to appreciate this distance and could go well at decent odds for John Mullins
A tricky looking contest with a few of those drawn on the inside looking set for a bumpy passage in the early stages. Should things get messy, sole wide runner Classen Dynamic could take advantage with a strong late burst if the Jane Craske runner is close enough to the leaders at any stage
A Maiden contest that won't take much winning but it looks a good opportunity for Jason Bloomfield's Starshine Babe to land a first open victory. She can lead on the rails in the early stages and being a few grades better than these, then she ought to take plenty of beating
This looks to be a better looking Maiden contest and it could be the chance for Paul Burr's Tally Ho Socks to get off the mark in open company. He has been running well in defeat at Oxford and Romford in recent weeks and a clear run in the early stages can see him proving too strong for possible front runner Bockos Buster as Kevin Boon's runner has been off since May and could need the outing
Six bend action to finish off the open action at Yarmouth. Wrong Not Wright just failed to make all the running in a top grade contest over this distance for John Mullins in his last six bend start but Bogger Cash could be set to make a winning comeback. Mark Newberry's runner was an unlucky loser when last seen in late June but moved well in a recent four bend trial and could be the one to beat if hitting the front early
Central Park

£500 awaits the winner of this contest and it could go the way of Chaddy Boy. Dan Brabon's runner was having his first start since late June last weeks when scoring in the heats and if able to improve on that run again here, then he could take all the beating though Luke Morrison's Dreaming Landon is sure to be finishing well and could go close with a clear passage
The Liz McNair pair Queen Sinead and King Presley were both beaten in a Category Two competition at Hove last weekend and will be looking to get back to winning ways with another of their better breaks. However, Paul Donovan's Fastlane Hoffa has won two of his last three starts and could pull off a bit of an upset if able to hit the front down the middle
King Memphis looked to be back to his brilliant best at Hove last Saturday night for Liz McNair and he looks set to land the double if able to repeat that performance again, though kennelmate Queen Shakira is more than capable of giving him a stern test having ran well in the Sussex Cup Final on the same card. Dave Lee's Bluejig Baron is strong in the later stages and may not be far away in his bid to land the four-timer
Six bend Maiden action which could go the way of Dave Puddy's Hasty Lottie, who was runner up in a track record performance last week having led in the early stages and a similar lead could see her hold on this time though could be vulnerable on the run for home. Aphantasia was staying on well in that contest and could be a threat for George Andreas if in a handy position late
Four bend Maiden action this time which could go the way of Nice Enough. Luke Morrison's runner won a D1 contest in all the way fashion last time out and looks set to lead down the middle, and she may just be able to build up a big enough lead to hold onto at the finish. Maxine Locke's January 24 youngster The Other Winx is lightly raced and she could be involved if up with the pace at any stage
Perry Barr
Shana Golden was a good runner up here last week despite not gaining the clearest of passages, but Adam Sear's runner could go one place better on this occasion if she can build up an early lead against the rails. Glenrock Ace has won two of his last three starts and Robert Hall's local is sure to be staying on well in the later stages
Six bend action here and this race looks to evolve around Tax Evader. Roy Peckham's runner stayed on well to score at Towcester last week over 500m and steps up to the 660m trip here. If he see's the distance out, then he can record a comfortable success. Of the rest, Droopys Moose is sure to be staying on late, but is likely just to be playing for the runner up position
King Jackson can prove to be hit and miss from the traps on occasions but there is no doubt that Pat Doocey's runner has the pace to score in this contest if coming away from the traps well, and an early lead here could see him away and gone. Carol Weatherall's Chamberlain Kate is another who can be hit and miss from the traps but is another who has claims of scoring with one of her better breaks
GBGB Sprinter of the Year for 2024 Magical Bluebear has been off since taking a tumble at Central Park in mid June but he moved well in a recent trial at Monmore and could take all the beating here in his comeback outing for Mark Russell. Fellow Monmore raider Newinn Souly is sure to be staying on well in the later stages and Kim Billingham-Hine's runner could make things interesting if within a length or so when rounding the opening bends
Kate Harrison's Lightfoot Ricky has been running well in recent weeks, winning three of his last five starts including in top grade, and he looks set to land his first open race contest if able to produce another of his usual fast starts and build up an early lead down the middle, though Pat Doocey's Longacres Daddy can stay on well late and could go close if staying in contact early
A Maiden sprint contest is the final open on the card at Perry Barr which could see Simon Deakin's Fairest View getting off the mark in open company. She can be hit and miss from the traps but when timing it right she makes all the running in top grade and that sort of run would be good enough to score here.
