Nottingham

2025 StarSports/TRC Greyhound Derby winner Droopys Plunge moved well in his first four bend trial since that Derby victory at Towcester in June at Nottingham last night when recording 29.38 (+30) before racing at Nottingham as part of his preparations for the £12,500 to the winner Arena Racing Company Select Stakes, which takes place at Nottingham on August 25.

Before then though, there is the start of another £12,500 to the winner competition, the Arena Racing Company Puppy Classic, which kicks off next Monday. The Paul Young trained pair Underground Fizz and Droopys Alldeway recorded 29.80 and 29.91 (+30) respectively while Nathan Hunt's Mad For Cash went round in 29.92 for the 500m course

Sean Parker's Droopys Flare was another notable trialler on the card with the Central Park 731m track record holder returning from injury. She posted a respectable 29.80, while Patrick Janssens's Romeo Steel showed all is well again after being well beaten at 1/6F at Monmore a couple of weeks ago, recording 17.63 (+10) in a solo trial over 305m

Monmore

With the Ladbrokes Gold Cup and Ladbrokes Summer Stayers kicking off at Monmore on Saturday, Mark Wallis sent a few of his likely contenders for a look round the Wolverhampton circuit.

Armagh Daithi, who had been off since reaching the final of the Arena Racing Company Laurels Final at Perry Barr in April, was the fastest of the Wallis runners, when recording a short head victory over Rackethall Brute, who had also been off since being withdrawn from the StarSports/TRC Greyhound Derby third round, with a winning time of 28.80 (-30). That time was only bettered by Nathan Hunt's Newinn Oscar, who stopped the clock in 28.77 (-30)

Vhagar, whose only defeat over six bends came in the Semi Final's of the Premier Greyhound Racing Regency,  looks set for a crack at the Ladbrokes Summer Classic on the back of a 38.03 (-40) trial over the 630m course
