History
The Laurels was first held at Wimbledon in 1930 and the London track staged the race 64 times until it moved to Belle Vue in 1998, which hosted it on 19 occasions until 2016.
After three years at Newcastle from 2017-9, Perry Barr took charge of the race in 2021 and will host it for the fifth time on Saturday. It will be the 91st running of the race.

All four Perry Barr winners were beaten in the first round but won the semi-final.
Of the five trainers in Saturday's final, two have already won the race at Perry Barr – Kevin Hutton with Signet Denver in 2022 and Patrick Janssens with Hawkfield Ozark in 2023.
Mark Wallis’s Ivy Hill Skyhigh was beaten a short-head in the first Perry Barr running in 2021.
John Mullins is the sixth trainer to have two finalists in a Perry Barr Laurels final. Kevin Hutton with a winner and 4th in 2022 has the best record.
Two winners also reached the Birmingham Cup final with Havana Class (2021) finishing second and Hawkfield Ozark (2023) finishing fifth.
Candy Man, 4th in 2021 for Carol Weatherall won the Birmingham Cup the same year, while 2023 5th Ivanexile (Matt Dartnall) won the Birmingham Cup the previous year.
