Romford have wished trainer Maxine Locke the very best in her move from the London Road venue to Central Park.

A special racecard message ahead of Friday's meeting says thank-you for over 20 years of local service and wishes the team at Bonville Kennels all the best in a new chapter for the Essex kennel.

Mark Arkell, Romford racing manager, said: "It's a special night for us in saying goodbye to Maxine and good luck to her, Terry, and all the team.

"They will always be welcome here at Romford and we look forward to taking Maxine's entries here as a Central Park trainer for our Friday night open-race cards and all our major competitions."

Romford's message reads:

Farewell, Maxine Locke!

We would like to say a massive thank you and farewell to Maxine Locke after an incredible 21 years of service at Coral Romford Greyhound Stadium.

Over more than two decades Maxine has been a huge part of Romford’s success, playing a role in some truly memorable moments.

Her time here included major race wins, such as the Essex Vase, most recently with Droopys Eunice on 24th January 2025, as well as the Coral Golden Sprint with Lough Messi in 2014, and another Essex Vase victory with Adoremus in 2014. These achievements reflect not just success on the track, but Maxine’s dedication, experience, and commitment to doing things the right way.

She’s been a constant, respected presence here, and her contribution to Romford racing has been significant. Her dedication and professionalism and hard work have made a real difference and shines through in every one of her wonderful Greyhounds. Whilst we'll be sad to see her leave, we wish Maxine every success as she moves on to a new track and an exciting next chapter in her career.

Thank you for everything you've given to Romford you’ll be greatly missed.
