Schooling track back in business in West Yorkshire
West Yorkshire trainer is set to relaunch his schooling track alongside the rearing of pups.
Holt trying to help the tricky problem of lack of schooling facilities
Sheffield trainer Robert Holt is relaunching his schooling and rearing services from his West Yorkshire base.
Holt, who has trained the likes of Trickys Dumbo, Trickys On Fire, Trickycinderella and Tricky Wiggles, offers good rates for dogs with £5 a day for rearing and £9 a day for schooling with 14 acres and a schooling track near Bradford making for some of the best facilities in the area.
Holt, whose father trained the Produce Stakes champion Im Tricky at Swindon in 2005, has long been a champion of British breeding and has bred a host of litters - and winners - and continues to get his fair share of winners at Owlerton Stadium.
"I've always got extra satisfaction from breeding my own, but have also bought from Ireland - I got Trickys Dumbo from there. He won the Select Stakes for us at Nottingham in 2019.
"Trickys On Fire reached the semi-finals of the Scottish Derby at Shawfield and I also had Trickys Chuggy, who won on the track Sheffield, Sunderland and Doncaster, but was even better up the field winning the English Invitation Stakes at Sevenhouses in 2013.
"I keep reading about a lack of schooling facilities and, while I know for some a trip to Yorkshire is too far, I've had trainers from most of the UK - especially from the north east - and I just want to remind people that I'm here!”
