We take a look over the three semi-finals of the BetGoodwin Series Maiden Stayers at Oxford this afternoon to give a tip in each of the three races.
Sunday's Tips
*** Yourself - 4.26 Oxford 6/4
** Ballyhimikin Ben - 5.03 Oxford 6/4
* Venetian Mick - 3.49 Oxford 1/1
Yourself took her opportunity well in the first round, pacing up well to the opening turn and driving herself through the gap on the rails. She ended up not running the bend well having taken so much speed in but with slower starters in two and three, she might be able to get around on the inside a little easier. There is plenty of pace out wide for her to chase and she can get on top late on.
The final of the BetGoodwin Series Maiden Stayers has the potential to be a decent one, and another who looks to have strong claims to a place next week Is Ballyhimikin Ben. He was an impressive winner for Jamie Kingsley last week on his first try over six bends, finding his stride of late with three wins in his last four starts. There are some solid types in with him this afternoon but a similar display can see him home in front again.
Venetian Mick has won all three of his starts over six bends so far in his career, taking off in the opening round of this competition. That was the fifth quickest time of the year, so a repeat of that is going to make him very difficult to beat. He has a slower starter inside of him which should get him to the opening bend front rank and his middle gears should then take him clear.
