The six nominations for April's Greyhound Racing UK Greyhound of the Month

There are six nominations for the Greyhound Racing UK Greyhound of the Month for April as follows.

Aayamza Sydney - John Mullins - Ayamzaboys Syndicate

Winner of the Laurels at Perry Barr, he set a new track record in the semis. He will go down in the history books as the winner of the final Cat One event at the track. There are few greyhounds who have had the level of consistency that he has shown over such a long period of time. It was his ninth Cat One final, an incredible achievement.

Headford Asher - Maxine Locke - JR Racing Syndicate

Smashed his way onto the scene with an unbeaten run through the recent Hove Puppy Cup. He improved a chunk with each of his runs there, stopping the clock at 28.88 in the final. There is going to be plenty more to come from him as he matures so this will not be the last time that he is nominated.

Hello Diego - Paul Hennessy - Mr P Hynes

Winner of the BetGoodwin and JR Racing Maiden Derby at Towcester, breaking the heart of the sponsors own Ballybough Nutz who was a gallant runner-up. The son of Jaytee Yankee went unbeaten through the competition, showing a smart mix of all-around pace.

New Destiny - Mark Wallis - MWD Syndicate

Another Cat One success for the stayer as she took out the ARC Grand Prix at Sunderland. Not only did she justify her position as the ante-post market leader in style, she broke the track record in the final itself, despite not getting to the front until the fifth bend!

Proper Heiress - Mark Wallis - MWD Syndicate

In the running to make it a remarkable hat-trick of wins. He was the February champion for his PGR Winter Derby win and took the March award for his ARC Kent Plate success. A fluent victory in the Time Juvenile at Towcester has seen him nominated once more. That is the best field that has been assembled in this country for a long time so despite being a one off, it could be enough to see him win!

Runaway Dior - Paul Donovan - Mr S Lemar, Mr J Wales

Others were preferred in the market for the final of the Coral Brighton Belle but it was Paul Donovan's bitch who had gone recall. Her most potent weapon is her early pace and she used that to best effect to get out and away before her rivals had a chance to see her escape.
