The Steel City Cup has a new sponsor for 2026
Sheffield has announced that the Steel City Cup will carry a new sponsor this year, with BetGoodwin taking over.

Steel City Cup unveils new sponsor
BetGoodwin are the brand new sponsors of the Steel City Cup.
Andrew Mascarenhas, director of racing at the Owlerton Stadium, confirmed the news last night by welcoming the independent as backers of the famous and longstanding race, their biggest competition of the year.
"I'm delighted to confirm that Goodwin Racing Ltd. have agreed to take over the sponsorship of the Steel City Cup, previously sponsored by Bresbet," said Mascarenhas.
"The Category One 500m competition will now become the BetGoodwin Steel City Cup, and a separate agreement has also been reached which will see extensive branding across the stadium installed prior to commencement of the competition.
"I'd like to thank Julian Head of Goodwin Racing for the quick agreement to step in and ensure we had a sponsor for this year's competition and I look forward to hopefully establishing a strong sponsorship relationship with BetGoodwin in the future."
The BetGoodwin Steel City, which closes to entries on September 30, kicks off with six heats at Sheffield on Sunday, October 4, with the semi-finals a week later, and the £12,500 final on Sunday, October 18.
Last year's Steel City Cup was won by the Patrick Janssens-trained Romeo Steel.
