Towcester on Sunday saw the return to the track of Droooys Plunge
A handslip at Towcester on Sunday afternoon was the first step on the road back to racing for the 2025 English Greyhound Derby champion Droopys Plunge.

Droopys Plunge is back!
The 2025 English Derby winner had a handslip before racing at Towcester on Sunday and was given the thumbs-up by trainer Patrick Janssens afterwards.
Janssens said: “It’s early days, of course, but he came off fine and we’ll see how he is over the next few days.
“Things need to go well, but I'd say something like the Eclipse at Nottingham might be a plan.
"The Select Stakes will come too soon. He’ll need a few trials, but he’ll tell me when he’s ready - and there’s absolutely no rush. Getting him back at all is some achievement. We thought that might be it for him.
“Missing this year's Derby was disappointing but for a dog of his age he doesn’t have a lot of miles on the clock and looks good after today.”
Last seen on track in November at Hove when running second in the Coral Gold Collar Consolation, the November 22 son of Droopys Sydney and Droopys Sweet was the sole UK-trained finalist when winning the Derby last year as he finished best to deny Bockos Diamond, reigning champion De Lahdedah. and subsequent Irish Derby winner Cheap Sandwiches in a vintage renewal.
