Tuffin at the double at Towcester
There was a double for Laurence Tuffin at Towcester on Sunday afternoon, while Rose Draper landed the sole open race at Sheffield.

Tuffin time at Towcester
There was a double for Laurence Tuffin at Towcester where eight opens featured on Sunday afternoon.
The locally-based handler got off to a flyer when his Fabulous Naomi made all in the 500m maiden opener in 29.68, holding the well-fancied Romeo Force by a neck.
Romeo Aragon also scored for the kennel with a dominant trap-to-line success over 712m in 43.07 (+20) at 5/4.
The race of the day was division one of the Towcester Standard which produced a thrilling finish between Gun Slinger and Newinn Sharky.
The latter got first run and blazed a trail, as Gun Slinger was slowly away and had a lot on his plate entering the back straight.
However, Michelle Brown’s 5/2 chance began to motor from halfway and flew up the home straight to deny Carol Weatherall’s dog by a short head right on the line in 29.12.
Weatherall had better luck in the second division of the Towcester Standard as her Chamberlain Kate paced up into an early lead and wasn’t for catching. The 5/2 shot came home a length and a quarter clear of Fords Gamble in 29.40.
In division three of the Towcester Standard, Quill Quids only had two rivals to beat and Esther Driver’s runner landed odds of 30/100 with ease in a fastest-of-the-day 29.05.
There was never a moment’s doubt for backers of Bank Of Granda (2/5fav), who continued her excellent run of form when making all over 712m in 42.93 (+20).
The Mattie Richards-trained bitch has now won her last four attempts over the C&D, while there was also a six-bend success for Arthur Minute, who justified even-money favouritism by a length and a half from Azzas Angel in 43.23 (+20).
Kalukis Gamble powered home to land a 500m maiden contest at 3/1 for Steve Lapidge in 29.45.
Fox too clever at Sheffield
There was only one open at Sheffield and it saw Distant Fox (11/8) make every yard a winning one over 660m.
Rose Draper’s dog was quickly away in the red jacket and never looked in any danger as he blazed a trail on his way to stopping thee clock at 39.04 (+15).
He scored by two and a quarter lengths from fellow joint-favourite Trickys Buttons, who stayed on well for second.
