TV Trophy set for May slot alongside Derby
Towcester ready to host marathon showpiece across second and third round nights of Star Sports & Orchestrate Ltd. English Greyhound Derby.

May-date for TV Trophy as famous race saved
Towcester is close to saving the TV Trophy.
The famous marathon showpiece is missing from the big-race schedule this year but discussions are currently in place to stage the 943m contest across two Saturdays in May, and so running alongside the Star Sports & Orchestrate Ltd. English Greyhound Derby.
A spokesman said: "We are still a few days from confirming the intention to run a TV Trophy in 2026, but staging the heats on the Saturday night of second round of the Derby with the final on third round night, always a great night, could work.
"It's certainly being looked at."
Last year's TV Trophy was won by the Mark Wallis-trained Mongys Wild on his way to being named Stayer of the Year and Marathon Performer of the Year for 2025 at the recent GBGB Awards.
