Brown is on the road again for charity
Michelle Brown is fundraising for Whittingham Kennels and the Greyhound Trust Wisbech in the London Marathon on April 26. This is not the first time over the 26.2 miles for Brown and nor is it going to be her last with plans to keep on running.
Brown raised £2,320 when running the London Marathon in 2025 and has set an even more ambitious target this time around of £3,000. With the race coming up in just 10 days, the fundraising is just over halfway to the target set, but there is still plenty of time to get involved.
You can donate on Michelle's Just Giving page.
Brown is not expecting to set the clock on fire this year but is more than hopeful that she can do enough to ensure that her place in the London Marathon in 2027 is guaranteed.
"My personal best is 3:19.24" she told us. "I'm not going to be beating that this year but I want to secure my 'good for age' place which secures me a spot every year to run in London, it's like a grading time.
"The time for my age is 3:40 .I expect i will run around 3:25- 3:30 which I'll be over the moon with as I am behind with training.
"I run primarily for two reasons, the first is because i love my food.! As a side note, anyone who was at Suffolk Downs on Tuesday nights for the open racing will know that Brown is a fish and chips ninja!
"The second is that it's brilliant to switch off and think about dogs. Dogs are 24/7 and running gives me breathing space and thinking time. I always feel so much better after."
Speaking on the two charities who will benefit from the fundraising Brown said, "Rehoming centres do such a great job I like to give something back when I can.
"Rehoming is a lot of hard work. Matching the right dog to the right people. I rehome a few myself if the right people and dog comes along, so I know how much work goes into getting it right."
