Mongys Wild and Bruce Bay are Monmore leaders

Mongys Wild was quickest once more in the Ladbrokes Golden Jacket, taking his semi-final in 40.91. At 1/6, he was the shortest of the winners on the night, with all three winners of the stayers contest scoring at odds on. As is his wont, he needed most of the distance to get himself to the front and then careered away from the last bend to run out a five-length winner. The Other Winx picked up second for Maxine Locke.

Second quickest was Sean Parker's Droopys Flare. She got a perfect tow into things from Romeo Empire and then Vhagar to deliver her challenge right on the line. The Mark Wallis-trained runner maintained the gallop to finish second and make another big final but she continues to find Droopys Flare too strong for her.

It was Bluejig Outlaw who picked up the opening semi to give Locke another into next week's decider. A messy opening saw Craig Morris's Cartoonist spring clear and it was only coming home that Locke's runner finally took his measure. His 15.45 sectional was the quickest of the qualifiers for the final.

It was the Wallis kennel who also had the quickest of the semi-final winners in the Ladbrokes Winter Derby. Bruce Bay would perhaps not have been the most obvious winner of his semi but he timed his break well to take the lead early on and never looked like being caught. Texas Jack for Richard Rees picked up second to book his place in the decider.

David Fradgely has already guided Bouncing Monarch to Steel City Cup and Jimmy Wright Future Stars finals and he added a Winter Derby to that list with his semi-final success. Behind Gary The Arb in the heats last week, he reversed that form with a slicker exit to pick up win number 10 from just 22 runs. Belinda Green's runner did plenty to grab the other qualifying spot.

The frustrating record in semi-finals continues for Michael Burton's Droopys Aladdin but he did at least make it into the decider, a close second to Tom Heilbron's Toddys Wolf. A 4.27 split from the winner made all the difference, the quickest of any of the qualifiers. This looks as far as he wants to go but he could well lead them all a merry dance next week as well.

There was a further winner for Wallis on the undercard as Crafty Alejandro took out the final contest. It was a messy sprint that saw plenty of trouble at the turn, with the inside three runners coming out of things relatively unscathed.

Just half a length slower was Newinn Bachelor who took the other sprint heat for Kim Billingham-Hine. He timed his challenge well to pick up his kennelmate Newinn Souly in the last few strides to score by half a length.

John Mullins picked up a winner on the card from Aayamza Shazza who got the better of a duel to the opening turn with Bikini Bullet, getting the better of that rival off the second bend to come away to score by a couple of lengths.

Central Park treble for Luckhurst

Three winners in Kent for Julie Luckhurst last night concluded with a third win on the bounce for stayer One More Tune. She has really found her stride again in recent weeks and looks set to continue to run up a sequence.

In a sprint Luckhurst was successful with Blazeaway Noir. He has a pair of top grade wins already this year and showed the best pace to the opening bend to add an open to the mix.

Luckhurst's other winner came in a 491m contest from Half Jarred. He had to overcome a bit of early trouble, getting to the front as they exited the back to see off kennelmate Epic Princess.

Spencer Mavrias topped and tailed the opens on the card with Lets Go Johnny and Lets Go Girl. Both were quickly to the fore from the striped jacket, two of the five winners from the widest starting slot during the night.

Another one of those was Liz McNair's King Presley who was a wide-margin scorer in a sprint. He finished joint top with Romeo Steel in 2025 with 23 open race wins, getting off the mark for the first time this year.

There was an excellent run from Paul Donovan's Cinderella Tell to reclaim Branch Pal in the shadows of the post having led up. Dave Lee's railer has been in sparkling form of late and this was another solid run from him despite getting beaten.

Ballymac Axel picked up his fourth win in five starts for Maxine Locke. He is in a nice rhythm at the moment, doing well to get himself on top after suffering a bump early on.

The big surprise for punters was the 18/1 success of Mickeys Tribute for Ricky Holloway. A messy first bend saw him avoid the trouble to go clear, clocking a smart enough 29.04 in the process.

Two further contests over 491m went to Nick Carter's Clongeel Sminky and Alana The Second for Martyn Wiley. The first of those went off 16/1 despite being a recent A1 winner. Yougo Freddie was the other winner on the card, landing a six-bend contest for Seamus Cahill.

Butlers Lane back to winning ways at Dunstall

Oaks winner Butlers Lane got her head back in front at Dunstall Park after suffering her first defeat at the track on her last visit. She was quickly into stride and although her winning time was nothing like her best, she did what she needed to do to get her head back in front at short odds.

She was the final leg of a treble for Barry Denby with The Other Cody and Skeard Daisy May also doing the business at odds on. It was a fifth win in six starts for the former and a fourth in five for the latter as both continue excellent spells for the handler.

Another short odds winner was the progressive Good Acclaim. Stuart Tighe's sprinter bolted around in a quickest of the year, 15.80. He has gone quicker in a trial around here but it was more than enough to make it 4/4. Still a blank page, he contains huge potential for better still to come.

It was Droopys Poker for Kim Billingham-Hine who picked up the quickest of the 480m runs on the night with a 28.28 triumph. He turned the opening bend just about last but a gap opened up perfectly for him to turn handier than looked likely, roaring clear by almost six lengths.

There was a pair of six bend contests with Paul Godfrey's Arthur Minute getting her head in front for the first time since August in the quicker of the pair. The other went to Rockmount Junior for Dalton Smith, picking up well to get the best of a blanket finish.

Lewis star twinkles at Oxford again

Five opens on the Oxford card saw Alright Twinkle extend her winning streak to five for David Lewis. She has been a revelation through this run, getting herself to the front late on, and as she has often done, she shaped as if further is going to be what she looks for down the line but she just keeps on winning over this 450m.

A double on the card for Kevin Hutton came from Venetian Mick and Jazzy Belle. The former ran riot in a 650m contest in the fashion that he had when winning the BetGoodwin Stayers Series back in November. The latter got her head in front for the first time, finding runner-up Loveofmyown as a bit of a rolling roadblock at times but switching outside on the run-in proved to be the right call.

There was also a double for Adam Sear. My Lennie is a solid sprinter on his travels but it is over this 253m that he really shines, picking up his eighth open over track and trip. Sear added on with Mr Flashy who took a four-bend contest. It was a contest that fell apart but the youngster put himself in the right position to take advantage.

Soppitt and Foot with Star Pelaw doubles

There was a Sunnyside sprint double at Star Pelaw for Ted Soppitt, with Ted and Cairo both running out comfortable winners. Ted was the quicker of the pair, producing a 14.49 effort compared to a 14.63. They were two of the five odds on winners on the card of nine starts.

Two more of those were the pair of winners for Glenn Foot. Abbeyside Crypto and Emilys Superstar topped and tailed the card for Foot, the latter back over her favoured 590m at the track for the first time since finishing runner-up in the final of the Untold Racing Stewards Cup back in October.

Here Comes Bob denied a Soppitt treble, picking up a win for John Watson from the red jacket. It was the fourth win in six starts since arriving at the kennel. Eden Hagrid made just about every yard to land another 435m contest, his third win in his last four starts for George Walker.

There was a tidy 2026 debut from Colin Campbell's Maes Maya over 590m. She got to the front early on and kept pulling out enough. A half-sister to Naochra, this was probably the best performance of her career so far.

Another sprint on the card was won by Violets Girl for Michael Sillers, while the biggest shock on the night came from Christopher Harker's Clash Scorch. An 18/1 winner, he led home a 20/1 shot for a £229 forecast.

Smart future looks assured for Morris pup

Yarmouth saw a very taking winner for Craig Morris in the shape of Droopys Assured. The son of Droopys Addition was making just his second career start, producing a 27.49 run. As a July 24 pup, he has the potential to rate a fair bit higher yet, and looks the type to make a serious impact later on in the year.

The other open on the card went to Kereight Fraud for Erica Samuels. She stayed on powerfully to deny Morris a double with Flashing Fender setting the fractions in the contest. It was a sixth success in 11 starts dating back to November for the winner.
