Shadow Storm takes another POW award in the Silver Salver

There could be some contention this week at Central Park with Shadow Storm taking the Performance of the Week again for his semi-final win in the Arc Silver Salver. His was the quickest of the wins in a Category One competition so it comes out on top but on any 'normal' week it would've gone to Bubbly Evie who was breathtaking in her win over 664m, clocking the second fastest time ever recorded over the trip.

The other Category One this week was the opening round of the Time Greyhound Nutrition 3 Steps To Victory. Nathan Hunt's Goldcash Warrior was the quickest of the winners here with a new fastest of 2026, stopping the clock for Sheffield's 480m in 27.37. His time was bustled up in the final heat as Grouchos Cassie completed a four-timer for Diane Henry, going just two spots slower.

Although Mark Wallis missed out on another Trainers' Championship on Judgement Night, his Vhagar produced the best of the runs on the Thursday evening card at Monmore. Just Mongys Wild and Droopys Flare have gone quicker this year over 684m when they led home the Ladbrokes Golden Jacket field, those times three and two spots quicker than Thursday's effort respectively.

There are a pair of Cat Two competitions in progress at Sunderland at the moment which saw Annadown Chip produce the Performance of the Week for the second week running for Maxine Locke. There is going to be an almighty bun fight for supremacy in this litter once they are done with their racing days, with some serious talent amongst them.

Doncaster saw a very smart performance from Bossman Buddy over 450m, stopping the clock just five spots off the quickest time of the year so far. He had some serious times in Ireland, 28.05 at Cork and 28.15 at Shelbourne to name but two as well as winning the Produce Stakes. South Yorkshire is a far cry from those but he looks capable of adding plenty more wins to his resume.

575m at Romford is probably on the short side for Powerhouse Duke, but he produced a strong-running win there on Friday night, getting on top late before really turning on the turbo to power clear. This could open up a few more doors to him down the line, though surely the Regency back at his home track of Hove has to be the main target this summer?

At the other end of the distance bracket there was a smart sprint win at Nottingham on Monday from Shelt Hill Rosie. She had chased home Good Acclaim twice and Bockos Buster once in her last three defeats so has been keeping very warm company. Her 17.64 was a career best run for her and she is still a puppy.

Appearances from Niosfearrnabolt since his win in the 2024 National Sprint have been limited. Last week's Newcastle win was just his ninth start in the almost 18-month span since landing the Nottingham Cat Two. Connections persevering with him suggest that he is still showing more than enough at home and even off the back of one race in 10 months, he still produced the seventh fastest sprint of 2026 at the venue.

Elsewhere in the north east, it was Smell the Bucks who took the award at Star Pelaw for Glenn Foot. She's an electric type when she times her break to perfection as she did in an A2 on Saturday night, her graded run outstripping anything that the open race winners on the card produced.

At Towcester there was a strong performance over 460m from Salacres Lucia. She is the youngest on the list this week, an October 24 whelp who boasts a pedigree to die for. That suggests that she should get further but the drop from 500m to 460m looked to be in her favour. Could get further in time as she is still unexposed and the bitches only competitions in the autumn could see her excel.

Bonus Bullet beat a promising type in Smokestack Saxon when scoring at Hove on Thursday night. She had taken on some tough types in puppy company earlier on in the year but has returned to action in fine fettle. A debut winner last year when beating The Other Winx at Oxford, she is starting to find that sort of form again, looking to add to a pair of Cat One semi appearances already in her career.

It was another sprint winner at Dunstall Park this week as Rollaway Holly produced the pick of the runs. Open race action away from her home track has not really looked to suit her in three defeats since last racing at the Wolverhampton circuit, but this was a third straight win at D1 level, where she clearly feels right at home.

Being able to get on the bunny allowed My Name Siddy to produce his best effort at Yarmouth so far, the winner of two of his three starts in A3 and A2 grade. He was a smart enough performer in Ireland but once more he needed to be on the skin to be seen to his absolute best effect, clocking 28.53 at Tralee in his best run there.

Kinsley was running very quick last week where Ardsallagh Lady took a length off the quickest time of the year so far over 462m. It was comfortably the best performance of her career so far, notching up win number seven on her 30th start.

A pair of veterans to round things out, kicking off with Rapido Firmino at Valley. He was making the 100th start of his career, and produced his quickest ever sprint time at the Welsh track. Hopefully connections were on at 12/1!

Lissatouk Blake rounds us out with the top effort from Harlow last week. He is into three figures himself in terms of races contested with this proving to be his 36th win which included a pair in Ireland as well as one in every single grade at Crayford from A10 to A1 back in 2023.
