Five on the bounce for Laugh Alot

Jane Craske has the veteran in super shape at present, leading up to win her fifth straight start last night over 388m. She has done her winning in bunches over the last nine months, picking up another five-race streak last summer as well as three wins in four starts in December.

An October 21, she is nudging towards being closer to five than four but there appears to be plenty left in the tank. She is just three wins away from 40 for her career which would be a great milestone to celebrate for her.

A single sprint open on the card went to Michelle Brown and Gothic Opera. He out-trapped his rivals to get himself into a lead that was uncatchable as hard as Jason Ray's Savana Sprite tried, she was only able to bring the margin down to a head at the line. It was the first time that the winner had been dropped to 220m at the track, clocking a very solid 13.63.

Rileys Daughter picked up a four-bend race for Maurice Rice. The wide runner showed the best gears to the opening bend and that was enough to supplement the win that she picked up seven nights before. She has won seven of her 14 starts since returning to the care of Rice after some time spent with Colin Dibb.

Another 388m contest completed the set of races won from the front. Enid Gowler's Keady Storm was the one to head into the bend in front and with trouble behind, he was always going to be hard to reel in again given his 500m winning form around Sheffield before joining his current kennel.
