Flying start for Greyhound Racing UK
Greyhound Racing UK have posted impressive figures in their short time in operation.

Flying start for Greyhound Racing UK
Greyhound Racing UK have reported very impressive numbers since their official launch earlier this year.
From March to June 2025, total engagement across all brands included 30,000 new followers, 5,300 posts and articles, 10.3 million views and visits, 135,000 reactions, 16,000 shares and 9,700 comments.
Those are big figures for a startup company in just four months and Greyhound Racing UK is gathering further momentum going into the second half of the year.
It is just over a year since the company was set up by Mike Davis, who saw that the greyhound racing industry was desperate for promotion at a strategic level.
With nobody stepping forward to put this in place, Davis began a ‘not for profit’ venture to promote, advertise and broadcast greyhound racing and greyhound homing using his own funds and called it Greyhound Racing UK.
The aim was to reverse the decline in the key industry measures:
- Amount of betting turnover on racing
- People attending racing
- People owning racing greyhounds
- Number of greyhound trainers
- Public perception
- Time taken to home retired greyhounds
Following the purchase of the Greyhound Star website and the Gone To The Dogs podcast in the second quarter of 2024, the first Gone To The Dogs – live! was broadcast on YouTube in September 2024. The next six months were spent building the team and marketing engine, before launching the social media channels, website and broadcasting channel in March 2025.
As well as Greyhound Racing UK and Gone To The Dogs – live!, other brands created by Davis included Greyhound News UK, Greyhound Homing UK and Barking Mad Betting.
The multi-agency homing platform was launched in June 2025 and is the first to bring together greyhounds from across dozens of homing centres. Users are able to filter on criteria to select a greyhound and it provides a single click contact direct to the homing centres.
Gone To The Dogs – live! has now produced outside broadcasts as well as studio offerings, bringing live and recorded content to viewers, and they have done 15 live shows to date. This included the whole of the Stars Sports/TRC English Greyhound Derby, with the programme on final night reaching over 10,000 concurrent viewers through YouTube and that show’s total audience currently stands beyond 38,000.
Barking Mad Betting has been a revelation, amassing 10,000 followers in just three month and 850,000 views on YouTube, while Greyhound News UK provides all the latest on the sport thanks to an experienced team of content writers.
The company has made huge strides forward in such a short space of time and they are now set to build on that initial success, with 27 people in place across marketing, broadcasting, partnerships and homing
Greyhound News UK have already linked up with www.sportinglife.com to provide daily tipping previews and more partnerships like that one are set to follow.
