Harlequin Beauty is set for a date with Droopys Clue
Two former kennelmates are set to join forces once again as Harlequin Beauty will be covered by Droopys Clue now that she has been retired from racing.

Harlequin expanding their brood roster
Hove tracker Harlequin Beauty is ready to renew acquaintance with Droopys Clue, the former Greyhound of the Year, but this time will make if official!
The pair, both trained during their careers by Seamus Cahill, are to be mated after Harlequin Beauty was retired after a setback at Hove. Her and Droopys Clue once shared a kennel at the Keston, Kent, set-up with the Cahills.
Dave Wilson of the Harlequin Racing Club said: “Beauty picked up a tendon injury and will be retired to the breeding paddocks - and has a date with Droopys Clue.
“That’s the bonus after the disappointment of the injury, although she owes the club nothing and has been a star for us with 13 wins from 46 career starts - ten in opens and three graded races. She also reached the final of the Coral Brighton Belle last year.
“Our thanks go to Seamus Cahill and the team at Keston who have expertly handled her and we’re excited about her prospects at stud given she’s closely related to Cheap Sandwiches, the Irish Derby champion. His dam Hearthill Josie is a half sister of Beauty’s, both being out of that fantastic brood Conquering Queen.
“Beauty will be returning to Ireland for her breeding and we are in discussion with her breeder Kevin O'Connor at present.
“The plan is for Harlequin Beauty to join Harlequin Asmara, Harlequin Fifty and Harlequin Ocean as part of the Harlequin breeding syndicate to supply us with quality home-bred pups.
“Harlequin Ocean, a multiple open race winner for the syndicate, has her pups on the ground by Dorotas Wildcat, born in July 2025.”
