Harlow set for Cat One action
Harlow kicks off a brand new sprint Category One next week.
The SIS Sprint Trophy will be over 238m and, for 36 runners, will start with six heats on Monday with the semi-finals a week later and the £7,500 final on Monday, November 16.
The two-bend competition follows on from the recent Arc Scurry Gold Cup and sees a few of those who competed at Dunstall Park heading to the Essex venue.
Sid Panayiotopoulos, Harlow's deputy racing manager, said: "We're all delighted to have a Category One back at Harlow.
"It's been many years since the last one and we'd like to thank SIS for the prize-money allocation and their support of the track.
"Thank you to all the trainers for entering the competition and good luck to all the runners and their connections - and hopefully we'll see some more Cat Ones at Harlow in the future.
"As with most sprint competitions it looks a competitive event and may the best greyhound win."
For Panayiotopoulos himself, he is enjoying his new role back at Harlow where he worked previously having spent a few years at Romford.
"Thankyou to Dave (Barclay) and the team for giving me this role in the racing office working alongside Mark (Schellenberg).
"I enjoyed my time at Romford and can't thank them enough, but this dual role of racing office work and track maintenance is definitely something i've always wanted to do."
