Joe's Saturday Tips- 30th August

Joe Conneely takes a look at the open race action today and brings you his best bets

Opens at five tracks in the UK this evening at Central Park, Doncaster, Monmore, Oxford and Swindon where six heats of the BGBF 79th Two Year Old Produce Stakes take place and also the second batch of second round heats at Shelbourne Park for the Boylesports Irish Greyhound Derby.

Romeo Alliance  (above) is the 4/7 favourite to win the competition on the back of his Puppy Classic success at the start of the week with litter brother Romeo Ability next in the betting at 5/2. They should comfortably win their heats at 4.24pm and 4.07pm respectively with Romeo Alliance lining up in heat four at 4.24pm with Romeo Ability taking centre stage in heat three at 4.07pm.

Heat one at 3.27pm should go the way of local runner Eagles Respect who is capable of going close to 28.00 as shown in A1 last time out beating Cul Na Braithre by three lengths. Berties Decision can get the better of Signet Nayla in heat two at 3.47pm. He comes into this on the back of a rapid 26.57 success at Oxford in tip grade company.

Heat five at 4.42pm again should go to a local runner with the strong running Malcolm Bosh expected to get the better of his four rivals and the final heat at 5.01pm can go to David Mullins’ Ten Fold in what looks the most open heat of the six.

Doncaster host five different minor competitions over their sprint trip, 450m and 483m distances for maidens and open race winners where Acomb Felix  (below) is looking to go ten unbeaten in the final race of the night, the Doncaster 450m Standard Competition Heat Two at 9.26pm from trap one

At Shelbourne Park Mark Wallis’ Proper Heiress (below) lines up in heat twelve of the second round of the Boylesports Irish Greyhound Derby from trap one at 8.32pm. He faces a difficult enough race but if coming away in similar style to how he did in round one he will take all the beating as he gets used to the track more with each run

Also on the card is Bombay Pat in heat nine at 7.48pm looking to continue where he left off last week from trap six with Hackney Corner lining up in heat ten at 8.03pm and the final heat of the night at 9.40pm is a belter with Swords Style taking on Magical Keith, Droopys Slick and Droopys Deploy.
