Joe's Central Park selections

***7.56 Central Park - Swift United (3pts) 2/1
**6.48 Central Park - Brinkleys Betty (2pts) 7/2
*7.22 Central Park - Tenalach (1pt) 2/1

Three graded selections from Central Park this evening.

The nap of the evening is trap three Swift United in the A1 at 7.56pm. he was a good winner of an A1 last week, leading and holding on. A similar break to last week's 3.00 sectional should see him scoot clear of this field. This is arguably a weaker race than Swift United faced seven days ago when winning, so as long as he can trap well he can hold on from Clongeel Sminky and Pretty Epic who will be staying on well in the latter stages of the race.

The next best is trap three Brinkleys Betty in the other A1 on the card at 6.48pm. She is yet to put her best paw forward since joining Barry O’Sullivan with three open races under her belt and an A1 defeat last week when 10/11 to win the race. However, she did not manage to lead at any stage whereas tonight I can see Brinkleys Betty being in front coming out of the second bend. Tiermana Ziggy in trap one goes to the bend well but if Brinkleys Betty can get a clear run around the first two bends, she can show her class and pull away from her rivals heading into the third bend, putting the race to bed turning for home.

The third bet of the evening is trap four Tenalach in the A2 at 7.22pm. She is only a February 2024 youngster with two four bend runs to her name, having been competing in D1’s and D2’s at the track prior to her step up in trip. She held every chance when beaten over four lengths by Waikiki Darren in the grade last week but this week she has every chance of leading to the first bend. If she manages to get off the front she is expected to improve drastically on what she has produced over four bends on her last two starts so I am happy to take a chance Tenalach can lead and make all.
