What an outstanding dog Jacktavern Pele has been for connections, a winner over three different trips at this track, he has a great opportunity to land a D1 this evening. He has had one run back from a couple of months off, landing a D2, dipping under 16 seconds in the process. He is entitled to sharpen up for that but a repeat of that time ought to be good enough to see him double up in any case. 

Although he was a slightly surprise winner of a D2 last week, Outlaw Gun has been given a decent opportunity by the assessor to double up with another win at the same level. He has the same dog inside of him that he beat in that win, looking one of his main dangers, with the other main threat coming from one who was two grades lower just two starts back and although progressive, now has a much stiffer task taking on the likes of the selection.

Those looking for forecast and tricast picks at Towcester on a regular basis will know Salacres Merkle well. She has not got her head in front much in recent months but she continues to run rock-solid races in defeat.
