Ladbrokes Golden Jacket ante-post tips
The Ladbrokes Golden Jacket is part of a huge double header of Category One action that kicks off on Saturday evening at Monmore alongside the Ladbrokes Winter Derby.

Ladbrokes Golden Jacket
The ante-post market for the Ladbrokes Golden Jacket is dominated by Mongys Wild, and that should be no surprise given that he arrives off the back of his track record-breaking performance in the final of the Arena Racing Company Cesarewitch at Central Park.
Prices below are from the sponsors and are correct at time of writing.
The head of the market
When it comes to those at the top end of the competition, there are the usual names here with Mongys Wild, Droopys Flare and Deadly Disco all coming in from the Cesarewitch and Vhagar from the bet365 Challenge Cup.
It was this track and trip last February that saw Mongys Wild taste defeat for the only time in his first 17 starts for Mark Wallis at the paws of Deadly Disco. The pair have locked horns plenty since, with each taking Category One glory.
Vhagar will be well suited to this speedier track than when being Mongys Wild in the St Leger last autumn at Nottingham but it is hard to oppose the top six-bend dog in the country at present. He won the Golden Jacket last year, setting a new track record in the semis and final and he can further cement his place as the top stayer.

An each-way player
This easier track over the distance could help Patrick Janssens's dog close the gap that was opened up on him in the final of the Cesarewitch by Mongys Wild. He has the four bend gears to take the proper stayers well out of their comfort zone early in contests and that can stand him in good stead once more. He shaped well in a recent trial on his first look at the track since August and can lay down a solid marker in the heats.

A wide outsider
It could be dangerous picking out a pair from the same heat but Malcolm Bosh has given the impression that the step up to a proper test over six bends has the potential to be the making of him. He has a good 5-6 lengths to make up on the likes of Vhagar from their respective form at Oxford over the 650m distance but he hits the line strongly there as he did once more behind his litter brother Eagles Respect and Ballymac Madgie last time out. That pair are in the 20/1-25/1 bracket, so he is overpriced compared to them.
