Monmore Green Monday Results

Open race action featured at Monmore afternoon with five races in total across the sprint, four-bend and six-bend trips.

Ladbrokes.com 264 Open (3:01)

Bandanna Bono took the opening contest, finishing well to win in a photo finish with quick away railer Makeadifference a short head back in second. Bono recorded 15.54 and rewarded those that backed him at 5/1.

Ladbrokes 630 Maiden Heat One (3:19)

Heat one went to the Kim Billingham-Hine-trained wide seed Thru The Roof who led late to win in 38.94. Thru The Roof has won in A4 and A3 grades over the four-bend trip in recent weeks and has now broken his six-bend maiden tag. He looks a nice type.

Ladbrokes 630 Maiden Heat Two (3:57)

Droopys Expected took heat two to land the Kim Billingham-Hine double. The October 2022 son of Burgess Bucks was quick away and made all in 39.03. Race favourite Thor Odinson caught the eye in defeat, staying on well for second.

Ladbrokes 264 Final (4:16)

The final went to the Richie Taberner-trained Aero Pattika who pinged out and made all in 15.31 to reward those that snapped up the 11/8 on offer from bookmakers. Holding Harry finished second from T6 with the forecast paying £13.87.

Ladbrokes.com 630 Open Race (4:53)

At 4:53 in the feature contest, all eyes were on Champys Girl in T2 and Droopys Maximus in T4 as the pair lined up at 8/13 and 13/8 in the betting market. Franco Eve led round from T5 but Champys Girl turned within striking distance, and it was race on.

At the third bend, Farneys Wexford showed nice middle gears to hit the front, but he had Droopys Maximus on his outside and Champys Girl nipping up the inside. At the fifth bend, Champys Girl hit the front and powered clear, and it was all over bar the shouting for those that took the 8/13 on offer. The Ellie Field-trained railer went onto record 38.53 with a six-length gap back to Droopys Maximus in second.

Robert Short Treble at Nottingham

Monday evening at Nottingham provided plenty of action, headlined by trainer Robert Short's impressive treble.

Arena Racing Company Sprint (7:27)

Over the two-bend 305-metre trip, Popper Moody caused a shock at 20/1. The April 2022 son of Droopys Sydney broke mid-pack but paced up well into the corner and led the round. Odds-on favourite Coppice Rocket in T6 also attempted to do the same but was badly crowded, and Poppy Moody went on to record a ¾-length victory with Jaymir Lucy in second. The forecast paid a whopping £161.24. Well done if you found that one.

Arena Racing Company Winner Of One Open Race (7:44)

The contest went to early-paced wide seed Leelad (9/2) from T6. The Jill Llewellin-trained performer was quick away and made all in 29.05.

Arena Racing Company 480m Trophy (8:01)

All eyes were on Jetstream Breeze from T4. Sent off the 8/15 favourite, Jetstream Breeze stumbled at the start, and suddenly it was a wide-open event. Tiermana Rocky led round from T3, but it was Cul Na Braithre (7/1) who took the race from T1 - the first of trainer Robert Short's three winners on the evening.

Arena Racing Company Maiden Standard Trophy (8:36)

Short landed his second winner with Pulleen Dasher (3/1) making all from T5 in 30.18. Mallogs Miley chased home the impressive winner but couldn't close down the gap and was beaten 2¾ lengths at the winning line.

Bilmun Re-Union Trophy Open (8:54)

King Ezra (4/1) completed the Robert Short treble, taking the 480-metre contest. Ezra led at the first bend and went onto record 29.29 with Jaymir Arlo back in second.
