There are just four open races at Nottingham tonight to pick over for the three selections which means that we have a shorter than ideal best bet as we look to follow up Sunday's 9/2 winner.
Monday's Tips
*** Good Acclaim - 8.01 Nottingham
** Brickhill Tamika - 8.19 Nottingham
* Rathcoole Reds - 7.11 Nottingham
Good Acclaim is going to be a short price in the 8.01 but he is very hard to beat at this sort of level. He has won all three of his starts over the 305m trip here, and even at prohibitive odds tonight, he only really has the more exposed Rental Crisis to beat. There are only four opens on the card so we are a little short of options, but he is rapidly turning into one of the top sprinters in the country.
There should be a double for the Stuart Tighe kennel in the very next race with Brickhill Tameka taken to follow up Good Acclaim. A draw in two is perhaps not absolutely ideal but she was hugely impressive at Star Pelaw when last in action, producing a very slick 14.43. That was only a D2 contest but it is a very swift time at the County Durham track that would give her strong claims if she can reproduce it.
Things have gone a little awry of late for Rathcoole Reds after a string of solid efforts. Although he is in an open race this evening, the majority of his rivals here are from lower down the graded ladder at this track. He can't be one for absolute maximum confidence after his last couple of runs but his A1 winning form in February would set a strong standard for the others to aim at.
