It's Doncaster Puppy Derby final night at the South Yorkshire venue where we have found three selections from the card.
Saturday's Tips
*** Carrigoon Cece - 7.58 Doncaster
** Good Hormuz - 8.16 Doncaster
* Zenith Impact - 8.52 Doncaster
It's hard to oppose Carrigoon Cece in the final of the Doncaster Puppy Derby this evening after her impressive wins in the heats and the semis. The Coral Romford Puppy Cup champion has taken well to the demands of a bigger track and longer trip and will sport the same red jacket that she wore in the decider at London Road. Her early pace should see this safely under wraps before they get to the first bend.
Good Hormuz is a rock-solid local runner here, winning his last two start over this 483m distance. He was unlucky to exit the Puppy Derby in the first round here but that 450m distance wouldn't suit him as well as this slightly longer one. The class is there to win on his efforts so far and after only eight career starts, it would be disappointing if he didn't still have better to come.
There has been some success for David Mullins here during the Puppy Derby and he can have a winner on the night from the fast starting Zenith Impact. She was just run down late on her first look at the track last week when in a much deeper contest than this one. She will have to lead the one up as that does not want the red jacket but she has the gears to clear that and she can improve on her first look at the track.
