Tonight is the final of the Premier Greyhound Racing Eclipse at Nottingham on a card where there are nine open races for our tips to look over.
Monday's Tips
*** Born Racer - 7.44 Nottingham 11/10
** Roanna Mamba - 8.01 Nottingham 11/10
* Elusivenomore - 9.01 Nottingham 8/1
A very smart sprinter when trained in Ireland, Born Racer has probably underachieved since moving across the Irish Sea but there have been some runs where he has shown the sparkle is still there. Walked out here last week but showed plenty of pace up before being trodden on. The two tends to move right off from that box and lacks a look at the track, so if the pick were to hit the lids, he’ll have half of the track to operate on.
Roanna Mamba has been absolutely airborne around Doncaster in recent weeks, rattling off five straight wins there. Wasn’t close to his best when he had his sole run here in the past but that was almost a year ago, so he should be capable of stepping up on that here. He has only run from trap two once so far in his career when winning, for all that it would not be his perfect draw.
This is by far the toughest race that Elusivenomore has run in so far in his career but he has the draw to make full use of. He has an excellent record when he has been clad in red and with one of his normal breaks, he can lead these to the bend. He is going to need a career-best run to hold off some very smart dogs like Proper Heiress but with four other railers going for the same portion of track behind, he might just be able to slip away.
