Nottingham confident Monday's British Breeders Semis will shine
Nottingham general manager David Evans is looking forward to Monday’s semi-finals of the BGBF British Breeders Stakes at Nottingham - and is confident recent hare issues will soon be overcome ahead of another busy Category One season.
Three winners for Patrick Janssens - Fabulous Heka, Romeo Ability and Romeo Empire - and one for Angie Kibble with fastest-of-the-night winner Eagles Respect made for a high-quality start to the latest running of one of British breeding’s showpiece events, but recent meetings have been blighted by hare malfunction and delays to races, albeit no meetings have been lost
And Evans is confident the issue will be rectified.
He said: “It’s an ongoing issue that was caused by recent trap works that have impacted other systems. We have fixes going in to resolve them by the end of the week."
Meanwhile, after Monday's heats Romeo Tomcat still heads the outright market despite defeat at the paws of Eagles Respect.
On Thursday morning it was announced that Aurora Dawn had been withdrawn lame from the competition. Trap 4 in the second semi-final will now be vacant.
bet365: 11-8 Romeo Tomcat, 3 Romeo Ability, 10-3 Eagles Respect, Romeo Empire, 16 Fabulous Heka, 25 bar.
