There is only one dog who has gone around the 590m at Star Pelaw quicker this year than Witton Gucci and that was only by a single spot. This competition is liable to see that time fall with some smart performers in action and Glenn Foot's bitch is one of them. She has not been beaten at this track yet and can continue to add to that record and make it 5/5 this evening. 

One of the most fascinating runners in the SIS/Star Sports Stewards Cup has to be Tom Heilbron's Droopys Bookem. He has enjoyed going back over six bends this year, going close in the Ladbrokes Summer Stayers Classic at Monmore in August. He shaped really well here in a trial and although he faces the fastest of the year in his heat in the shape of Rapido Benny, he can outstay that one late on as long as he turns second to Ricky Holloway's runner.

There is an interesting step up in trip this evening for Droopys Orator, making his debut over six bends. He has to prove that he wants this far but he has enough solid form in the book to think that he can muster up the early pace and class even if his stamina doesn't quite hold out. He produced a very smart 14.34 trial here on his first look at the track, repeating that to the line the first time round should see him well in control early on.
